How to deal with cravings

1. Get some exercise

Exercise can help you to control these extreme cravings.

exercise distracts you and also supports your

mental and physical health.

Also exercise reduces anxiety and freshens up the mood.

Also taking part in some group sport can be a better distraction .

Also switching to exercise can improve your willpower and helps you to stay mentally and emotionally strong.

And all these exercise habbits works when a craving strikes.

even a walk can distract you from a craving.

And after 20 minutes you will notice that you have forgotten about the craving.

2. Distract yourself

Always keep in mind that craving is something that is temporary. Cravings hardly lasts for 15-20 minutes unless you keep them alive by devoting attention to them. Instead of fulfilling a craving its better to distract your own self.

you can create distraction just by walking, reading, playing,

writing or anything that requires

your portion of attention.

It’s impossible for one to think about two things at a same time also you cant force yourself to think about something else while thinking about a thing already.

This is the only thing you can do to divert your attention that better if you find yourself a distraction. 

3. Play music

 Playing a track can divert your mind and helps you you get stay away from cravings.

Our mind is really smart and when a craving strikes it starts to play tricks , such as it makes you realize that you have been sincere for so long and nothing will happen with single doze.

also it makes you think that you will be fine after just a single doze.

So, for these extreme cravings you can just switch to music and music can control your cravings.

Always keep in mind that when you fulfill your cravings you feel satisfied for a while but after a time you will definitely going to regret about it and when a craving strikes just question yourself that why you have been sincere for so long and why you felt to quit smoking/alcohol/drugs. so intead of regretting later you should learn to control yourself and  distract yourself for a time because regrets are more painful than mistakes.

4. Examine it !

Here we need to understand a thing that our mind plays a vital role in this cravings scene . Our mind makes the craving thing extreme than it should be.

Firstly study your craving and be confident you will definitely gonna  fix this without doing wrong. Examine it that which part of the body is craving affecting? Is it stomach? Mind? liver? heart?, etc. It makes it easy for you to settle down the things which also motivates you to quit your bad habbits as well as addictions.

Also when a craving arises learn to settle it by making yourself understand that after few minutes this craving will be gone.

Best way to solve a problem is to analyzing it correctly , this formula also works same for addictions.

5. Accept cravings

First and last thing you have to understand here is that in a journey of quitting an addiction you will face cravings which is absolutely normal for a normal being , whenever you face cravings don’t think that you will fail and will be unable to quit addiction . Stop demotivating yourself because cravings are the sign that you are trying hard to get rid of your addiction and accept those cravings but never fulfill them .This works like those huge rocks that came across our path , we have to notice them but no need to bump into it . Carry on your journey because rocks came across to their paths only who chose to go ahead , so facing rocks are actually good but forgetting your way is not so accept cravings but don’t fulfill them and don’t forget why you started.
